Nice ambience, which is very Hallig. The food was actually quite good, although I cannot judge whether it is traditionally Indian. At least it's not the name. Waiting times were a bit longer, but you can overlook it. All in all a good restaurant.
Super delicious food :) very nice and courteous service. We recommend! Waiting times were completely ok.
After our experience in this restaurant, I can't understand where all the positive reviews come from. It was sheer disappointment. Although we were the only guests at first, it took a good 10 minutes until the menu was even brought to us. We ordered the drinks straight away, after another 10 minutes a 3/4 full, lukewarm cup of chai was brought to us, the rest of the stuff was spilled on the saucer on the way to the table. Without a word, but with a bow, just popped on the table. It can happen. Didn't order a starter, but a soup, which was totally forgotten. Fortunately also on the bill. The main courses (vegetarian) came after another 45 minutes, but they were tasteless, totally bland and unsalted, just sprinkled with a few fresh chopped herbs. Rice was half raw and naan - bread was also forgotten. Since we first thought it would be submitted later, we waited a while before we asked for it. This time the waitress came pretty quickly with naan bread that was probably warmed up in the microwave, and it was definitely lukewarm and rubbery again. On the other hand, the prices were pretty steep, which we knew in advance and accepted in expectation of a delicious meal. It was a disappointing experience and the worst Indian we have ever eaten at. Perhaps the right cook was sick or a substitute on duty, in any case it is incomprehensible to serve such a meal to his guests. It's a shame for the great atmosphere, but this restaurant is one of my deepest culinary disappointments.
Beautiful ambience and very tasty food. On our first visit the organization looked a bit mixed up but all in all satisfactory. On the second visit (also with reservation) nothing worked anymore. As a group of around 15 people, we waited well over 2 hours for the food. Getting drinks was also a demanding undertaking. Because we wanted to be good guests, we stayed seated and talked to the boss after dinner. The conversation was friendly. However, there can be no question of understanding and adequate compensation.
Very nice food, good value for money, got a table with cool views to the mountain and suuuper friendly and nice waiter!
Super delicious food wait a very short time, very competent friendly staff. Very happy to recommend again. Location very nice, great view of the mountains. Hygiene rules are observed very well.
A really nice place with a view of the kitchen. The waitresses are nice and warm. It was a bit of a shame that the starter and main course came at the same time. The food was not bad, but not really for me either, but this only corresponds to my subjective perception. Rice servings are not a problem and it was nicely presented.
Super fresh, worth every penny. Actually, I don't really like Indian restaurants because most of them are very overcooked. Here you can tell immediately that it is freshly prepared. There is even whole grain rice on request. The service was also super nice. At first I thought that the restaurant was a bit more expensive, but I'd rather pay 3 euros more and get real quality for it than at a run-of-the-mill tavern that seems to serve the same thing everywhere.
Overall, we can only give two stars. We waited 75 minutes for our starter, the main menu came 10 minutes later. The taste of the food was okay, but according to other guests it should be great. Overall very chaotic and only partially friendly and strange communication: no announcement of the long waiting time, drinks with the meal were forgotten without words. Corona hygiene rules are unfortunately not adhered to. Recommended for vacationers with a culinary thirst for adventure and patience.
The location is great. It was once a villa that was redesigned as a restaurant. There are indoor and outdoor seats. Food is mixed. My meat dish was far too little and dry for the price. On the other hand, my wife's vegetarian dish was quite tasty. I'm an Indian myself and I cook most of the time at home when I feel like Indian and don't necessarily eat expensive Indian food. Price-performance ratio for many dishes is not right. My drink (lassi) for this hot day was way too warm. Portion presentation was good.
Really enjoyed the terrific food, fresh and well made! This restaurant is just unique and as part of the experience the service is a bit slower and somewhat old school compared to modern fast-paced restaurants.
Super delicious food. Staff very friendly, but sometimes a bit chaotic. Unfortunately no card payment.
First of all, this is not an Indian Restaurant...the food tastes like nothing. Surely the worst food ( if they say Indian) Iβve ever had. Itβs pity because the building and the atmosphere is superb. It will be impossible to find worse Indian food than here...and Mount everest is even not in India.
Very nice restaurant, friendly service, a little different than you know but very attentive. Here is cooked and prepared with love. Food quality very good, my sauce was a bit too boring.
Wow! It was really good food. Service also very nice. Top
Fantastic food, great hosts, a relaxed cook. What more do you want?
We were very satisfied. Food exceptionally good, very friendly staff. The building is an old royal villa and gives a mysterious atmosphere. If I am in Berchtesgaden again this place definitely
Very friendly and delicious. It was a spontaneous decision and we didn't regret eating here.
This one star is for their ambience. I'm not satisfied with the rest. The reasons are the following. 1. The food was served half an hour late. While this is still ok, the food didn't taste at all like what it was supposed to( we. Shahi paneer and vegetable Jalfrezi tasted the same and were very sour. Veg biriyani lacked salt and veggies were not quite cooked. I see here that a lot of Indians have given one star for similar reasons. I think this should be seriously considered. 2. The quantity for the price is less. Also, they don't accept card payment. While this not a big issue, it can be an inconvenience as most of the places accept card payments these days.
Very! fresh, vegan is no problem at all. Many products in organic quality. Very friendly, sometimes overwhelmed staff. Would love to come back.
Very tasty, everything is freshly prepared. Compliments to the two ladies and their Indian chef, who master everything professionally despite two failures in the kitchen. The food makes up for the somewhat longer waiting times during this phase.
The place is nice but the foods are really worse than I thought. Doesn't even deserve 1 star for food. This 1 star is for the decoration of the place and the *atmosphere* . For Asian people, this will be the disaster for you guys. But I don't know about the European.
The place is nice. But, Some of the dish is very Bad. It is not Indian food and also Very expensive. I feel full of regret for choosing this restaurant. The food took too long. All of the food very very Bad. I will never go again to this restaurant.
Boss was stuck in India because of Corona. 2 older women really struggled. Food was delicious, if not quite hot and the meat a little dry. The atmosphere inside is really great.
Very fine, always freshly prepared food, nice atmosphere. We always like to go with guests and so far everyone has been thrilled. Please continue!
Great food.
Pathetic Indian food. They call it Indian restaurant, but food is awful. We asked for dal makhni, and we got black boiled moong. And same was for other dishes as well. Restaurant: please work with your chef to at least improve it little bit and make edible food. Even following a YouTube channel for cooking could have made it better.
The food is very german ! and kinda expensive . Daal was some kinda gravy, and carrots for biryani were under cooked. Not very satisfying !
Indian people never take this restaurant even you are dying and it doesn't reserve to be Indian restaurant. Please take other food than here
I wish I had the choice of choosing no star at all. Dal makhni should be renamed as lentil soup. Malai kofta should be tomato kofta. Its beyond my understanding, that how difficult it is to add proper seasoning to Indian food, when you are an Indian. And I was so surprised to see so many good reviews from non-Indian diners. I sincerely feel that sub-standard food is being served in the name of India and ignorant people are being cheated. If you wish to experience Indian food, this is definitely not the place to eat at.
Food is very pathetic, no one should come here with assumption of indian restaurant. No taste at all........ They are even not ready to take our suggestions. All gravy are with tomato only, no difference between malai kofta and dal makhani. With this taste, cost is very high. Please never ever come here for food, they make fool of you and waste your money.
Worst!!!!!!!! food ever had n served
Great calm atmosphere and plenty of choice for vegetarians too. Lovely owner who takes care of the guests personally
Such a cheap staff.. They are racist. The ladies who served us food behaved very rudely with us. While we noticed that they were very hospitable towards Germans or other nationalities. Please remember humanity comes first. Everybody should be treated equally. Thank you.
Great service and excellent food!
Average food.
Very good and for a fair price. Nice atmosphere.
Good service and very friendly staff. The mineral water bottle of 7 euros was very expensive though
Not authentic Indian food but a modern green take on the cuisine. Great atmosphere with friendly staff and unique, tasty quality food.
The restaurant has a good atmosphere, the modern feel is tastefully achieved with the older building. The staff were friendly and helpful, very welcoming. The food was better than I was expecting. Full of flavour and very well presented. It has a good variety on the menu. Wonderful location with great food. Looking forward to going again.
Very bad. Ordered lachha paratha, we got broken roties. Ordered chicken jalfrezi but it had lamb. Out of respect to the old waitress and chef, we didn't say anything. Worst experience.
If you are looking for authentic Indian food please dont visit this place. It was really pathetic.
Very disappointed with the food.
Food taste is good with nice ambience, but need to improve service. In first visit staff forgot to serve us complimentary rice with main course,so we have to order the rice separately and pay extra for it, in next visit we were asked to follow to the kitchen to make a payment.
Excellent freshly cooked dishes and 1st rate friendly service. Would definitely recommend.
Best curry house in Berchtesgaden..... visitors from London ππππ
one of the beautiful Indian restaurants i have ever seen. As the name suggests the place is located little higher. The restaurant is actually a small palace of a maharajah and it is remodeled to be a restaurant and that looks incredible. The food tastes great and the service is very cordial. The prices are reasonable with some discounts if you are lucky
Food is okay
Very good food and service...
Beautiful place - in a former palace of Ludwig II; very friendly service; reasonable prices. We ate lightly, canβt speak for the whole menu, but the chai was wonderful, the pakora were delicious, and Palak paneer was not bad. I give it 4 stars considering the atmosphere and service.
